Kuruk Full Transcript

Aang is riding Hei Bai through a strange looking place, the same one he was in when he crossed into the Spirit World during the Seige of the North. There are lots of strange looking trees in the background. As Aang speaks, they pass a faceless monkey in the foreground.
Aang: We're in the Realm of Koh, Hei Bai...We better be careful.
A man adorned in a Northern Water Tribe cloak drops from above, lands right in front of Aang and Hei Bai, pointing a spear at them. His face is concealed by what looks like a bear skin, with the bear's face covering his own. Aang falls of Hei Bai and lands in shallow, swampy waters. He points at the man.
Aang: Koh took your face and replaced it with a bears face!
The camera now shows a close up of the man, and we see the bottom half of a human face. The man has a short beard, and is wearing a water tribe betrothal necklace. He looks up, and we see the rest of his face.
Mysterious Man: Relax kid. I'm not going to hurt you.
The man reaches down a hand and helps Aang up.
I'm Avatar Kuruk! Nice to finally meet you.
The camera again shows a close up of Kuruk.
Now tell me, have you seen a beautiful woman with long, brown hair around here?
Aang looks a little puzzled as the camera cuts back to him.
Aang: No, who is she?
Avatar Kuruk: She's my wife.
Kuruk looks down, apparently ashamed.
When I was a young Avatar...
The camera cuts to show a close up of a much younger Kuruk, looking confident.
Avatar Kuruk (voice over): The camera zooms out to reveal the younger Kuruk easily suspending a massive rock in midair, and a muscular man next to him struggling to hold up a smaller rock. ...I traveled the world, challenging other benders to tests of strength...
The camera cuts to show the young Kuruk pointing at someone with an almost angry expression on his face. Kuruk: I challenge you to an Agni Kai!
The camera reveals who Kuruk was pointing at; a shocked looking person in front of a store.
Fire Nation Civillian: Uh, I was just going to the store.
The camera cuts again and pans downward to show an Air Temple.
Avatar Kuruk (voice over): I loved impressing people with my bending prowess. Especially girls.
As Kuruk says this, the camera shows him sustaining a small tornado with a dozen odd shapes inside of it. A group of female airbenders stands by, spellbound.
Kuruk: Bet you girls have never seen a lotus tornado before!
Airbender Girls: -It's beuatiful!
-I love you, Avatar Kuruk!
Avatar Kuruk (voice over): (Now we see Kuruk on a surfboard made of water, riding a giant wave.) I was arrogant, proud, and boastful...I never thought about settling down until I met the love of my life. (The camera shows the highest tower of the Northern Water Tribe, and begins to pan down.) We met during the new moon celebration, when the sister tribes would come together as one. (The camera shows a small crowd of men surrounding Kuruk, but he is staring straight through them at something off camera.) It was love at first sight. (Then the point of view changes and we see a beautiful girl with long, brown hair also standing in the middle of a small crowd.) Her name was Ummi. She was from the Southern Tribe. And she was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. (The camera now shows Kuruk and Ummi sitting down on some ice, with the full moon in the background.) With Ummi in my life, I decided to change my irresponsible ways and settle down. (The camera changes to Kuruk's point of view, shoing his hand extended outward toward Ummi, a necklace sitting on his open palm. Ummi covers her mouth with her hand.)
Ummi: A betrothal necklace?
The camera switches perspective to show Kuruk.
Kuruk: Ummi, will you marry me?
The camera cuts back to Ummi again, who looks delighted.
Ummi: Yes!
Kuruk and Ummi kiss, blocking out the moon behind them, and the camera blacks out. When the picture reappears, we see a shot of the spirit oasis from above, slowly panning down.
Avatar Kuruk (voice over): We were to be married in the Spirit Oasis. But on the day of our wedding, tragedy struck.
The camera shows Ummi, dressed in what is clearly a water tribe wedding gown. Suddenly, she falls into the pond of the Spirit Oasis. The camera pans down to show the water.
Kuruk: Ummi! No!
The camera is now looking upward from deep in the pond, showing Kuruk rapidly swimming downward.
Avatar Kuruk (voice over): Ummi fell into the spirit pond, as if some unseen force pulled her in.
Now we see Kuruk standing in the middle of the shallow inner pond, with the koi fish Tui and La circling him.
Kuruk: She's gone...
Avatar Kuruk: She didn't drown. She disappeared into the spirit world...Koh took her to punish me for my past mistakes.
The camera cuts back to Aang and Kuruk standing next to each other in Koh's realm.
Every year, on the anniversary of our wedding, I traveled to the spirit world, hoping to save my wife from Koh. But I failed.
Aang looks downward, looking a little ashamed.
Aang: I'm sorry. I know how that feels.
Suddenly, the camera quickly zooms in on Aang, who's eyes go wide.
Wait! I've seen her!
The camera flashes to show the only female face that Koh revealed when Aang went to talk to him, a beautiful face with long brown hair. The camera cuts back to Aang.
Koh still has her! When I was in Koh's lair, he showed me Ummi's face!
The camera cuts back to Kuruk, who is now holding his spear at the ready, with a look of renewed determination on his face.
Avatar Kuruk: Thank you, Aang. My search is not over yet. I will keep hunting Koh until Ummi and I are reunited.
The camera pans over Kuruk's shoulder, showing Aang again.
Hurry! Avatar Yangchen is waiting for you!
Meaningless Note: Again, just clarification that "Avatar Kuruk" is the older one in the spirit world that Aang is talking to, and "Kuruk" is the younger one.
