Nickelodeon updated their online TV schedule today, and Avatar is scheduled to air on April 18th, at its usual 8:30 time slot. Although the exact show description is still “undefined”, Avatar hasn’t aired at all on Fridays since new episodes stopped airing, so this might mean its coming back. Please keep in mind though, this is still PURE SPECULATION. I’ll update the site again if a definite air date is announced.

THQ has announced that another Avatar video game will be made, entitled “Avatar: The Last Airbender — Into the Inferno”. The description of the game is:

“When the Fire Nation devises a plot to use the power of Sozin’s Comet to rain devastation on the rest of the world, the fate of the world lies in the hands of only a few young, brave heroes - Aang and his friends”

According to the release, the game will “specifically follows the adventures of Aang and his friends” over the course of Book 3, and will be available for Wii, Nintendo DS, and PS2 this October. Check out the full article, along with gameplay footage, here.

After two years of not even getting a nomination, Avatar won the kids choice award for favorite cartoon today. A big congratulation goes to all the people who work on the show, and a shout out to all the fans that voted!

It is with great pleasure that I announce that the book 3: volume 2 DVD hit the stores today! The DVD contains these five action packed episodes: The Avatar and the Firelord, The Runaway, The Puppetmaster, Nightmares and Daydreams and finally The Day of Black Sun: Part 1 The Invasion. And if that wasn’t enough the DVD contains numerous special features as well. Please consider buying a copy as it would really contribute to the show.

Sorry I haven’t posted for a while but now I’m here with some great news! Well I’m guessing a few of you know already but Dongbu Feng is posting the title for book 3 chapter 16 on the 25th January. If you wish to find out sooner have a go at the crossword located at their site.

And for those who didn’t know the book 3: volume 2 DVD is released January 22nd!

Yay! Tonight in the Dongbu Feng chat, the Avatar Interfansite olympics was announced. If you weren’t there, sucks for you. Read the rest of the post for details.

Basically, a bunch of major Avatar websites are going to put together teams for a “friendly” interfansite competition. Each team will consist of 15 to 25 members. The sites participating so far are:

Distant Horizons, Airbender.Net, Dongbu Feng, Gyatso’s Temple, Flying Bison, Blue Spirit Gal, Kataang Forever, and myself.

Here’s a lowdown of the rules:

• Sites participating will need 15 members (with a max of 25) submitted to webmaster@avatarolympics.net by January 10th. We’re still accepting sites as well, and any site that can get the required number of competitors is eligible.
• The Olympics will take place from January 14th (opening ceremony) to February 15th (closing ceremony). Also, to be clear, this is NOT based on Avatar’s season 3 return, because there is not date yet, don’t mistake the 15th for the day that the show comes back (though that would be cool!)
• Fandom teams will be accepted for those who do not make the Fansite teams. Fandom and Fansite teams will compete in pretty much the same events, but their standings will be separate. Essentially the Fandom teams compete against other Fandom teams, and the Fansite teams compete against the other Fansite teams.
• People can only join one team. Also, they cannot be on a Fandom team and a Fansite team, only one.
• There will be many activities in which people can earn points for their team, including fanart, writing, video and scavenger hunts. Full details of the events will be available soon at the official site. There will be some live events, but those will be announced in advance and only a certain number of participants from each team will have to be there.
