Well, I’ve made a bunch of updates regarding book 3. The character bios aren’t done yet, but they’re getting there (huge thanks to Jeremy for dishing out around 10 bios in a single day). “The Awakening” is completely done, bios and all. “The Headband” now has its own page, but the bios for it aren’t completely done (I’m mising “Combustion Man”). Also, the episodes page itself has been updated with a cool new layout for season 3 episodes, and you can now click on the pictures for each nation to be brought to that nation’s season’s page. (eg, click on the water picture and you go to a page just for the season 1 episodes).
Also, random notes, there’s a new poll, I remembered that I have an updates bar on the right to update, and the air dates and times for the next 4 episodes or so have been added to the right navigation.
Enjoy
Edit: It took all of 2 minutes for this post to be up before I got 2 e-mails telling me that the “Original Air Date” thing for all of my season 3 episodes is wrong. I know that, I’m just too lazy to fix it at the moment, I’ll do that tomorrow. Thanks for pointing it out though

Some of you may remember that I started doing a full-scale character bios section back sometime in June. I estimated they’d be done by July…..righty….
Well, although it wasn’t done in the most efficient manner, it still got done. For the most part. The character bios section now has entries for every single character in Avatar….up through the end of season 2. I’ve made a list of all the new Season 3 characters, and am working on their bios now. Hopefully those will be up by the weekend at the latest, but no promises.
Also, right now, the characters page is just an A through Z list of all the characters. The staff is working on organizing it better, so look out for that too.

I’ve been talking for a while with the webmasters over at Animation Insider about affiliating with them, and combining my forum with theirs. I’m happy to say that we’ve finally finished, and the new avatar forum is located here. In it you’ll find avatar “Talkbacks” (in the episode discussion subforum), where each episode can be discussed individually, along with a whole lot more threads about the show in general. There’s a whole lot more active members over there than WT Forums ever had, so I hope everyone will sign up and enjoy discussing Avatar with the people over at AI.
The speculation comments on WT Forums are floating in their own dimensional abyss right now until I figure out what to do with them. If you have any questions about this move, leave them in the comments
And while I’m posting about new partnerships, everyone give a welcome to Jeremy, Matthew, and Bree, who have agreed to help me run Waterbender. Matthew has made a few news posts already, and Jeremy and Bree have been helping me write new character bios. The about us page will be updated with them asap

You can now add a countdown to the next episode of Avatar on your Google homepage by clicking on this link. Woot! I don’t know how or if it will update when each new episode airs.
There is also just a plain countdown file here if you’re interested.
Or, if you’re really weird (like me ), there is a book 3 countUP available here, keeping track of how much time has passed since Book 3 premiered.

Just a few random things I wanted to put on the main page-
First, I can confirm that the feedback is now definitely working, having received several emails in the past few days, and replying to them as well.
Second, the Avatar DVD to iPod guide has been working fine for a couple people who have emailed me, so that works too.
Third, congratulations to Jeremy for beating the Pong game in the Waterbender Arcade (you can see the full size picture of the final score that he took with his phone by clicking on the thumbnail). For those of you who’ve been coming to this website for a while, you might remember this news post, where I dared anyone to beat the Pong game, thinking that it was impossible. So congrads again, and maybe I’ll think of a prize or something.
Fourth, character bios are just about done, I have a few characters from season 3 to add, and the Y’s and Z’s from the entire show, but those will be up once I finish cleaning my computer of spyware (not fun).
Finally, the episodes page is now complete through Book 1, and has nifty drop down menus to help you navigate through all episodes. It should be updated through all known Season 3 titles, if it doesn’t appear updated to you, refresh your page. Individual pages for each episode in seasons 2 and 3, in addition to special episodes, are under construction.

Well, I have some really, really, really, really bad news, and some ok news that starts to make up for it.
The bad news: My feedback form doesn’t, or rather, didn’t work for the past month or two, and I had no idea. When you sent a message it forwarded you to the thank you page and said that it worked, but it really didn’t. This is due to nothing more than my total stupidity.
The ok news: It works now. Turns out I had forgotten to assign the variable that the form read as the email address to send to. Basically, the email you typed up was submitted and worked just fine, but the form had no idea where to send it. But that’s fixed.
So in summary, if you sent an email to me through the feedback form sometime over the past month or so, I didn’t get it. I’m sorry for the inconvenience I’m sure this caused, feel free to send me an angry email in all caps. And, if it’s not to much to ask, if you remember why you sent your email, and especially if you were submitting something, please re-send it.
Sorry!

I recently figured out how to rip the Avatar DVDs to my video iPod. If this sounds cool to you, click on “Avatar on your iPod” near the top of the left navigation. If you have any problems with my instructions, email me via the feedback form. Enjoy!
Edit: Speaking of iPods, Avatar is absolutely dominating the iTunes Kids TV category. Its three episodes are the #1, 2, and 3 downloads individually, and its three seasons are the three top season downloads. Check out a screencap of that here. Avatar Season 3 is currently the #8 overall top download for whole seasons on iTunes. View that here. Also, “The Headband” is the #25 most downloaded single episode, and “The Awakening” is #42. Congratulations to Nick, Mike and Bryan, and the whole Avatar crew!

What with school, Season 3 starting up, and lots of new people coming to Waterbender, its been really hard to keep the site updated on my own. If anyone is interested in helping me out with the site, email me at “webmaster@water-bender.com”, or select “Contact the Webmaster” from the feedback form.
Required Skills/Things:
- You must have an IM address, Yahoo, AIM, or MSN, it doesn’t matter
- You have to have some knowledge of HTML, the more the better
- You have to be able to be online at least 3 to 5 days a week, for at least 20 minutes or so
- You have to be willing to spend time, possibly a couple hours a week, helping me maintain the site

Screencaptures for episodes 219, 220, and 301 have been added, you can view a list of all of them here.
Edit: The Awakening is now available, full length on turbonick. I had trouble viewing in Firefox, but Internet Explorer worked just fine
Edit2: The fanfictions that the teams from Dongbu Feng’s Event week wrote can now be viewed here.

As you will have noticed, I’m doing a lot of site updates at the moment. New poll, poll archive page, and screencaps for episodes 218, 219, 220, and 301 should be up before the end of the weekend. The caps for 208 are up now, you can check them out here. Hopefully, as long as school doesn’t get in the way, more updates like this (I’m almost done with the character and episode sections) will follow soon. Stay tuned!
