The Earth King

The Earth King- First Seen: Book 2: Chapter 14
Affiliation: Earth
Personality: A somewhat young man who is completely unaware, up until Aang manages to tell him, that he is being used as a puppet by Long Feng, the head of the Dai Li. Kept completely in the dark all his life about the very existence of the 100 year war, the Earth King was shocked to hear about what had been happening outside his walls for the pass century. It is unclear whether or not he is a good ruler; although he has been (for the most part) rising to the sudden challenge of managing a war, up until very recently, The Earth King relied on his chief advisor, Long Feng, to make all his decisions for him. He does have some child like attributes, such as trusting Aang only because his bear, Bosco, did, and journeying to the outer wall simply to ride on Aapa.

Powers: The Earth King held the ultimate power over everyone in Ba Sing Se for the short time between when he became aware of the 100 year war, and when Azula took over Ba Sing Se.

Background Info: Little is known about the Earth King's background, both how long he had been king and who raised and educated him. Both, though, must have been heavily controlled by either Long Feng or the previous head of the Dai Li (read more here). Of note is that he's the 52nd Earth King, which means Ba Sing Se has existed as the established capital of the Earth Kingdom for a long time.
