La, the Moon Spirit

La- First Seen: Book 1: Chapter 15
Affiliation: Water/Spirit
Personality: It's hard to determine the moon spirit's true personality, as we never really see her very well. If anything, she is compassionate toward her adopted people, healing Yue when the infant princess was on the verge of death.

Powers: It's difficult to say, though the moon spirit probably has complete control over the tides.

Background Info: According to the legend of the Northern Water Tribe, the moon was the first waterbender. The people of the water tribes saw how she controlled the tides, and learned how to do it themselves. La and her partner, Tui, crossed over to the physical world near the beginning of it's existence, giving up their immortality for the chance to exist in the physical world. They took the form of two koi fish and remain in constant balance with each other, emulating the balance between the moon and the tides. La means "pull" in Chinese, and Tui means "push". Tui and La, push and pull, yin and yang.
