Personality: Toph is a very independent person, probably because her parents are very overprotective of her because of her blindness. She feels like her parents barely even know her. Her style of teaching Aang is very different from Katara's because she has to provoke him into standing his ground. She is stubborn and seems to enjoy arguing with Katara. Although she hates to admit it, she really misses her parents and feels bad for leaving them without saying goodbye.
Powers: Master earthbender, metalbender (a form of earthbending), ability to "see" with her feet by feeling the vibrations in the earth, professional scam artist
Background Info: Toph Beifong was raised by her extremely wealthy parents in the town of Gaoling, located in the southern Earth Kingdom. Her parents are overprotective, never allowing her to leave the Beifong estate. They do pay Master Yu to teach her earthbending, but unbeknownst to them, and just about everyone else, she is actually a master earthbender. She learned earthbending from the badgermoles that inhabit the Earth Kingdom. They, like her, are blind, and use earthbending to feel the vibrations in the earth and "see" where everything is.
