Tyro- First Seen: Book 1: Chapter 6
Affiliation: Earth
Personality: Tyro is wise and courageous, and very practical. He did not like the idea of open rebellion when there was no earth to use against the Fire Nation in their prison, but as soon as earth was given to him, with a little encouragement from his son, he was willing to fight.

Powers: Master earthbender

Background Info: Tyro is the unofficial leader of his village, and was captured along with all the other earthbenders while attempting to fight off a Fire Nation invasion. When Katara helped to set him and the other earthbenders free, he returned to his village to finish his fight, and drive out the Fire Nation for good.
