Azula Editorial

Azula as a character has always fascinated me, for a couple of reasons. First, though she seems pure evil, and completely unlikely to turn good in the end, she also seems to have genuine compassion for her friends, not something that we’ve come to expect from the Fire Nation. The little we’ve seen of them suggests that they’re constantly plotting against each other, vying to gain power, etc etc. However, like other fire nation people, she isn’t afraid to do whatever she has to in order to get what she wants, and the best example of this was in Return to Omashu, where she basically terrorized Ty Lee into joining her. But after that, there’s the occasional hug, the friendly banter, etc etc. However, this has little to do with her future in the series, so I’ll get to that now:

Azula, at this point, has basically taken over for Zuko as far as the chief-avatar-hunter-and-most-prominent-bad-guy role is concerned. One thing that is concerning though, is how she was able to easily hold her own, and at one point almost beat, Aang on top of the drill. Aang has mastered airbending, has supposedly pretty much mastered waterbending, and isn’t too shabby at earthbending, yet Azula, a single master firebender, almost killed him. One possible explanation is that, after drilling through dozens of braces, and creating a small hole through the top of a solid metal drill, Aang was exhausted. Either way, it’s pretty certain that Azula is the most powerful firebender in the world, aside from Ozai.

I’m writing this right after the airing of Lake Laogai, so at the moment there are a couple of loose ends involving her for the rest of Book 2. We never found out what happened when Azula caught up with the warriors of Kyoshi. I’d assume the worst, seeing as how all the warriors except for Suki were down. Suki’s good, but I don’t think she could take on Azula alone, and Ty Lee and Mei are backing Azula up.

In Zuko Alone, we see that Zuko’s grandfather, Azulon, had a rather suspicious death. Pretty much everyone thinks knows that he was murdered somehow. Slightly surprisingly, at least to me, almost as many people think Azula killed Azulon as think Ozai killed him. To me, Azula may be really strong, and really evil, but I don’t think she was capable of murder at the age of around 10. However, that doesn’t mean that she wasn’t necessarily “in on the plan”. Here’s my elaborate idea of what I think happened (whether or not it’s important).

Ozai hears that Iroh’s son died. He sees a weakness in the would-be heir to the throne, and knows, if he’s going to, he has to act on that soon. He tries to in the scene we saw, and that didn’t work. This is where it gets interesting: Azula tells Zuko that “Dad’s going to kill him”. I think that this is almost true. I think that Azulon did demand something like that of Ozai. Ozai plans Azulon’s death, realizing that doing that, and forging some sort of will, is the only way he’ll be the Fire Lord. However, what Azulon demanded of him perhaps hung in his mind, and Ozai (because he’s obviously twisted in the head) somehow thinks that unless he fulfills that demand, he’s “weak” somehow. Hence, he is constantly looking for an excuse to kill Zuko for the next few years. And when Zuko speaks out of turn in the meeting we see in The Storm, that’s the excuse Iroh’s been waiting for. I think he was planning to kill Zuko in the Agni Kai, but when Zuko refused to fight, he couldn’t kill his son in cold blood. The Fire Nation may be evil and messed up, but I think even they would frown on that. So instead, Zuko was banished. Getting back to Azula, I think that Azula was told about Azulon’s murder because, if Ozai was indeed planning Zuko’s banishment from the start, he’d want to be training and nurturing his only other heir to succeed him.

In my Final Battle editorial, I briefly gloss over Azula’s possible role/appearance. Now for details:

I do think that Azula and Aang, if not in the final battle, will at some point have a climatic, (and finally decisive) showdown, though I have several different theories on how this will come about, listed as far as likelyhood in descending order.

Theory #1: Ozai is overlooking the battle and not being a part of it, like all the big supervillians always do, and he sends his #2 to take out threat #1 (just looking at the numbers explains why this never works). This is reasonably simple, Ty Lee and Mei ambush the BoomerAANG Squad, Azula gets Aang on his own, ensue fight. I think this is the most likely.

Theory #2: The classic big hero about to face big villain moment, where the hero is in a big room, there’s a heavy metal door (think Avatar Roku’s temple kinda door), and one person (Azula) standing in the way of said hero and said villain. Aang, being Aang, goes all “Get out of the way, I don’t want to fight you”, etc etc, Azula just attacks him, and that’s how it happens. This seems a little bit to cliched, but I still think it’s reasonably likely.

Theory #3: This is a little weird, but I had a dream one night of the supposed “final battle”, and I got this image of Aang and Azula fighting in the middle of a field, armies on either side of them, a ways back but racing toward each other, then the armies collide, and a battle sort of forms around Aang and Azula. I don’t think this is too likely, just because it seems “Un-Avatarish”, but it would still be wicked cool.

Theory #4: Aang, along with the BoomerAANG squad, is attempting to take down some giant, Fire Nation doomsday device, and, in the process confronts Azula, much like what happened with the drill. This makes sense, but I’m hoping that it’ll be more original, rather than taking a previous plot device and repeating it. Because of this, I put this theory at the bottom of the likelyhood list.

At this point, Azula’s role still seems relatively unchanged, she’ll continue to attempt to conquer the world, etc etc. What I would be interested in seeing is if Azula actually ends of killing her father herself, so that she can gain power, and then Aang ends up fighting her instead of Ozai. Then something happens to Zuko, the Fire Nation finds itself without a leader, and falls like a headless worm. Unlikely, but possible, and that would mean that the good guys still have some hope. And it would be an awesome cliche if Azula’s own hunger for power ended up bringing down the Fire Nation.

That’s it for Azula, if there’s anything you disagree with, and/or feel I didn’t address, please leave it in the comments.

  1. As for what Azula did with Suki and the other Kyoshi warriors, she obviously took them down (as strongly suggested in ‘The Earth King.’) Now, I think that you just can’t kill Suki (Hey, Sokka needs his girl. After losing Yue, I think he’ll go crazy if he loses Suki) so Azula might’ve THOUGHT she killed Suki but in fact left Suki severly injured, and the Kyoshi warriors either dead or severly injured too. What happens to Suki after that, if the writers follow a path similar to what I suggested above, I’ll leave it up to them to figure out.

As for the whole dissapearance of Fire Lady Ursa, in the episode ‘The Earth King,’ Zuko has the dream with the two dragons. If you’ve watched Avatar plenty of times before, you instantly recognize that the blue dragon had Azula’s voice and the red dragon has Iroh’s. The blue dragon (which probably represents Azula) says to Zuko, “Sleep Fire Lord Zuko, sleep… just like mother!” That line right there, I think, majorly suggests that Azula killed Ursa after Ursa, possibly, (killed?) Fire Lord Azulon, or that Azula had a major role in the dissapearnce of Ursa.

In the episode ‘Zuko Alone,’ the morning after Ursa’s dissapearance, Zuko wakes up and finds Azula fiddling with his knife. When he asks her to give it back, she taunts him and says, “Who’s going to make me? Mother?” After hearing what the blue dragon said to Zuko in ‘The Earth King,’ I flashed back to that moment in ‘Zuko Alone’ and thought, what on EARTH is Azula doing with a knife? And why is she taunting Zuko about mother? After fitting what pieces the episodes give me, I figured the Azula DEFINITELY had something to do with Ursa’s dissapearance, and I am becoming pretty suspicious indeed.

  2. I agree with your theory regarding Ursa, except the part where she killed Azulon. Perhaps Ursa witnesses (by accident) Azulon’s murder, and so she had to be silenced as well. But in essence, I agree with everything you said, and hadn’t even thought of most of it before. Thanks for the input!

  3. True. Ursa probably could’ve witnessed Azulon’s death, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see what the writers had in mind.

  4. Ahhh…that’s no fun…. :( Let’s speculate about it! If Ursa knew or suspected Ozai (and possibly Azula’s) plot, she might have tried to warn Azulon, and, while trying to do that, witnessed his murder.

  5. But that could possibly mean that Ozai didn’t want to kill his son. And, supposedly, he doesn’t really care for Zuko. And look at how sad Ozai was when, in ‘Zuko Alone,’ Zuko ran up and asked him where Ursa was. I think Azula, considering that she strongly belived that Ozai, not Iroh, should be Fire Lord. Actually, now that I think aobut it, she might’ve done the whole thing. who knows. what do you think?

  6. Azula, flat out, no questions asked, is evil. If you’re in her way, she’ll kill you or capture you. Not a doubt in my mind about that. (She’s still my second favorite character, so I hope she turns good, but in all likelihood….) But when the whole incident happened, she was around the age of 10, maybe a little younger. And as evil, talented as she was, as willing as she was to do anything to reach her goals, I refuse to believe that at the age of 10, she was capable of murdering her own grandfather. Not just because he must have been reasonably powerful (even if she caught him sleeping or something), but because he’s her grandfather for Pete’s sake! A relative! At 10 years old? No way.

  7. Azula is a sociopath. Perhaps she did kill her grandfather. She’s the most 2-dimensional character so far in the series (other than Ozai) and I’d like to know a little about her… most of all, why she has an accent and Zuko doesn’t…(?)

  8. An accent? What are you talking about? And I don’t think she’s a two dimensional character by any means, we’ve learned a bunch about her, and her personality.

  9. Yeah, she kinda is a two-dimensional character. But i don’t think she has an accent (unless you count the voice of a 16-year-old American as an accent.) Azula DOES have depth, though, but not much. She has a sliver of kindness, and that’s aimed at her friends mostly. But otherwise she is OVERLY ambitious, I could see her killing her own grandfather to get her father on the throne. Did she not say in ‘Zuko Alone’ that they needed to find a new hier, because “Grandpa is going to die soon, anyway.” Hearing how nochalant her voice was, it sounded as if she could care less about what happened to her Grandpa. Then again, Fire Lord Azulon wasn’t exactly what you would call your ‘fun-loving, farm-raised grandfather’ anyway, but that still shouldn’t mean that you want to KILL him. Azula is, well, a psychopath: plain and simple.

  10. I think for the moment she’s definitely psycho, but that could definitely change. And Azula may have wanted to kill Azulon for the power she’d get because of it. Then she’d be second in line to be Fire Lord, after Zuko. Rather than 3rd or 4th, behind Iroh and whatever son he may have, if he had more kids.

  11. That’s more than believeable.

  12. Hmm. I just thought we always see azula sneak into and listen to peoples conversations that should have been private. Like her listening to Ozai’s and Azulon.
Maybe she just overheard some conversation about the arrangement of Azulons death. Ya know instead doing it herself.
Perhaps Ozai arranged his death(instead of Ursa killing him herself because of what Azulon said Ozai should do to Zuko) if his plan of asking to have the throne failed. which it pretty much did.

I dont know but this is just another theory. I dont really like the idea of Azula ever since in the womb planning on taking over the world. I mean she’s smart but not that smart.

Sorry about the bad grammer! :(

  13. Oh, she’s pretty intelligent. Just not in a good way. How else would she be able to take over Ba Sing Se with practically only two others and small group of elite soldiers?

But then, it could alos be because of Ba Sing Se’s VERY weak government. I swear, that city is hanging by a thread.

  14. I really do think her extremely good luck was with her that day. Alot of things could have went wrong.

  15. True, but she had been planning on how to conquer the city for quite some time. I think the idea that she stuck to probably hit her when she and her two friends found the Kyoshi Warriors.

  16. I agree. That’s an incredible window of opportunity, and for everything Azula is, she isn’t stupid. She probably seized the chance, but like Brenna said, Ba Sing Se’s government was hanging by a thread. It didn’t take much to topple it. I wonder if Azula new that the government was so wishy washy?

  17. considering she’s a princess, and a smart one at that, she probably had a good idea of the world’s politics, including Ba Sing Se’s.

  18. I love her!!! She is a awesome leader and won’t take any chances on anything. She’s spoiled. She will do anything to get what she wants, and with the flick of a finger, she can order an army of Dai Li Agents and Mai and Ty Lee

  19. Yes, she’s one of my favorite characters as well :)

  20. I’ve never really liked Azula. She’s the vicious, cynical, over-ambitious little sister. Pretty much: she’s a brat, a very dangerous one at that. Personally, Toph and Sokka are my favorite characters. Katara’s too motherly and over-caring, and Aang’s the main character, so of course we All have to tolerate him at the least.

  21. That’s what I love about Azula: She’s so evil and ambitious, but seems to actually have the capacity for compassion, just wanting to get out. I think there’s an internal struggle going on that even she doesn’t notice, I think she is able to be compassionate, able to care about someone other than herself, but forces herself not too.

  22. I kinda like Azula’s character, I love/hate her. Her evilness is cruel, and her constant clever outbursts are annoying for me (I don’t know why) But the rest is cool. Weird huh, I split the personalities up and see from there. I like the baddies, but not the big baddies….. get it? Ozai/Zhao I hate, Mai/Azula I like. It’s just me really.
I’m new here but i love forums/chats, and stuff. I finally got through without talking about my ship. I am not the big meanie when it comes to ships, I just like debating, thought I’d make that clear because people can be pretty mean about my ship and vice versa, plus about the shippers them selves.

  23. This isn’t a forum ^_^ It’s a board for speculation.

    Anyways, back to Azula….

Do you think her role will be large in Book 3? I do. As a matter of fact, I could see her being, like, the governor of Ba Sing Se. What do you guys think?

  24. Yeah, I think so to. But I don’t think that she would be the governor of Ba Sing Se for a long time. I think more for, like, 3 weeks or something.

  25. I love the third theory about her part in the final battle. Wow. Lol. That was a cool image, and very funny. Drama + funny = weird confused laughing Megan . Bravo.

    Very good spec. article.

Breanna, I agree with you totally on your favorite characters and what you said about the others.

  26. Thank you, it took forever to write. Even longer than Book 3, actually. But what do you think about the Azula killing Ozai theory I mention at the very bottom of the editorial?

  27. Oh, definitely. Azula’s too hungry for power to just wait for her dad (who appeared fairly young in silohuettes - I hope I spelled that right - and flashbacks) to grow old and die. She’s very amibitious, and probably impatient for sometihng that could take as long as waiting for a person to die. She’s probably just going to take the easy way out and do something with Zuko (hopefully not KILL him or anything, that would suck) and then kill her dad or something.

  28. I don’t think Azula killed Azulon. I think Ursa did. In the episode “Zuko Alone,” I think Azula really heard Azulon tell Ozai that he had to kill Zuko. Azulon’s death would mean that this threat would not have to be carried out. Ursa may have found out about the threat when she dragged Azula out of Zuko’s bedroom, saying, “It’s time for a talk.”

Ursa would not have committed murder for any other reason but to protect her favorite child, Zuko. This also gives the reason for the turtle duck scene. “That’s how mothers are, Zuko. You mess with their babies, and-” she made a biting motion - “And they’re gonna bite you back.” I don’t think that was there for a cute little moment alone. I think it’s a clue that Ursa killed Azulon to portect Zuko - she bit him back for messing with her baby. Then, naturally, she would have had to go into hiding for the murder. “Everything I’ve done, I’ve done to protect you.” That makes it sound like she did something very drastic - namely murder.

One last over-analyzed thing. “Ursa” is the Greek word for “She-bear,” and while I don’t know if names have any significance on Avatar, mother bears are known to attack and kill anyone who threatens her cub. Are there any other instances of name significane on the show?

I’d love to read responses. And why do you think Azulon’s dying wish was for Ozai to be Fire Lord? Did Ursa have a part in that, or was that Azula?

  29. Ursa could’ve forced him to say or something. And you’re right about mother bears, particualry grizzly bears, killing to protect their cubs. That’s one of the reasons why people get attacked by grizzly bears, they unknowingly got too close to the cubs. But anyway, Ursa probably did murder Azulon. It’s either Ozai or Ursa at this point, but probably Ursa. The reason for her dissapearance could’ve also been that someone caught her and then killed her. It’s a possibility, but not a likely one.

  30. i think that ursa killed azulan.

In Zuko Alone, we heard Ursa explain that when someone messes with their babies… the “bite back.” now, ursa learning that Azulon told Ozai to feels the pain Iroh felt as losing a firts-born son, meaning to kill Zuko. Ursa, learing this, kills Azulon.

    TAH DAh!!!

  31. azula is scary dont you think so?

  32. I agree with Emilia…Thats the first thing I thought after i stopped crying during that epi! hehe. ^^

  33. Personally, I would love to see Toph fight Azula. Azula would be so totally PWNED! I just want to see all the battles switched up: Aang vs. Ty Lee, Sokka vs. Mai, Toph vs. Azula, and Katara vs. Zuko.

Azula is a freak. She’s got serious issues. She is going to die ALONE. With no allies. No Ty Lee, no Mai; they’ll switch sides at the last moment. She will die ALONE. Either by the hand of Katara or Zuko.

  34. That is an excellent guess Breanna.I had a dream that Aang,Katara,Toph and Azula were teaching me how to bend air, water, earth, fire and the cold blooded fire.It was so awsome and what they were teaching me were real bending moves from actual tai chi methods!

  35. I think that Ursa is not dead, but someone tried to kill her, or she witnessed Azulon’s murder and left because of it. Azula might have done something to help Ozai kill Azulon. Also, I’ve seen Azula ships and I just must say, What are you talking about. They are NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

  36. Azul means “blue” in spanish, that’s why Azula has blue fire.

  37. This is all very plausable for what we’ve seen of Azula, but I believe that Azula is far more twisted and disturbed than the series lets on. I believe that there is a deep rooted, possibly disturbing reason for Azula’s more than average evil level. But as for the Ursa-and-Azulon-possible-double-murder thing, I believe that Ursa killed Azulon to make Ozai the new Fire Lord and thus protecting Zuko from death. Here’s the twisted part, I believe that after Ursa killed Azulon, Azula killed Ursa, possibly through her deep rooted hatred for her becuase she obviously liked Zuko more. I think it would make an intresting plot twist.

  38. Just because Azula’s name is “blue” in spanish.thats not why she has blue fire. azula has learned to bend blue fire.every firebender can bend blue fire but they dont know how to. all the other firebenders are unknown if they can or not.blue fire is more dangerous and hotter.

  39. Ursa is alive. We just don’t know where she is. I think she killed Azulon because Ozai said that Ursa commited some serious treason the night she dissappeared, and I think she did it to keep Zuko from being killed by Ozai. (Book 3 chapter 11) I think that Ozai really didn’t want to kill Zuko, but he couldn’t kill his own father either.I also think Ozai may not have loved her, but he may not have wanted to see her dead, especially if she helped Ozai gain the throne. They were husband and wife afterall.

Has anyone else noticed that the timeline in the show seems kind of wrong? Azulon was Fire Lord for 23 years before he died. At the time of the show, Ozai has been Fire Lord for about 6 years or so. That means that Fire Lord Sozen must have died only 30 years before that, meaning that he was Fire Lord for over 100 years. 80 years from the time of Aang being born to him (Sozen) dying, plus another maybe 20 or more from when he gained the throne. I think it’s kind of wierd.

  40. Well, when Zuko asked about their great-grandfather in Book 3 Chapter 6 Azula did say that Sozin was ancient when he died.
And on that final battle idea I think it will Zuko who takes down Azula if something like that happens.

And can Zuko learn to control lightning now? Iroh said he couldn’t master lightning until he mastered the turmoil in his life. Well, he’s made his choice and he’s joined Aang to teach him firebending so I think he’s mastered the turmoil in his life.

Also, who thinks Zuko will find Ursa?

  41. I think Zuko will find Ursa after the war is over. Now, after answering your question, I definitely have one:
Are there any good Azula ships out there? I think Jet, if he’s alive.
They both have that neglected/abandoned nature. They’ll do anything to get what they want.
But on the other hand, I have a bad habit of bringing up past/dead characters, like the Blue Spirit in a Katara/Blue Spirit ship.

  42. I’m pretty sure Jet died when he fought Long Feng.

  43. jet is dead. Remember in the episode “lake loagai” katara said jet injures weren’t good and toph say he was lying when he say he been alright? Put 2 and 2 together.

  44. I think personal Azula is simply power hungry. Her father made her into what she is but Azula is simlpy looking out for number one. Honesty, which do you think is more inportant to Azula: her father or herself? She’d problably chose power, no doubt. She constantly been minipulating everyone around her since we’ve first seen her. She definatly placed herself in a fire nation loyalty spot, but I think this is just a cover-up. Given the chance, she would immediantly grab the position of fire lord”ess” if she could.

  45. I think that now Zuko has come to the path of good and Iroh-icness, that it will be him that fights Azula whilst Aang is fighting Ozai.

I also think that in this epic battle that either Iroh or Zuko will die, personaly im hoping it will be Zuko beuse Iroh RULES!!!!

  46. I think that ursa was simply banished be cause of trying to save zuko and she may be in future episodes to explain why she was banished and were she had gone to hid all theses years

  47. :SPOILER:
Not to spoil or anything, but Ursa is banished because she indirectlly kills Azulon. Ozai is told to kill Zuko, but Ursa overhears. She proposes to find a way to make Ozai firelord in exchange for Zuko’s life. This is treachery, and although he says yes, she is banished. This is revealed the part 2 of the second season finale. So Zuko lives, Ozai is firelord, and Ursa is banished. I’d bet my socks that Azula doesn’t know where Ursa is. I bet my hat (I like hats) that Ozai isn’t sure where she is. And I bet 2 dollars that Zuko is going to find her eventually. That’s my guess.

  48. I think it would be wonderful if Zuko found Ursa. Then she could come back. Maybe.Or he could Re-banish himself and be banished WITH her (unlikely) . But what if Ursa’s not even still alive?
    I hope not.

  49. Ozai said she was alive, and I don’t think he was lying. The “re-banishing” thing doesn’t make much sense, as he pretty much already is (because he basically attacked his father in 311). I don’t know what Azula’s role in all this is, or if she even cares what happened to her mother. In 305 she seemed like she might have cared a little bit, but I don’t think we can really use 305 as canon.

  50. my favorite personagem would be wonderful if Zuko found Ursa. Then she could come back. Maybe.Or he could Re-banish himself and be banished WITH her (unlikely) . But what if Ursa’s not even still alive?

  51. azula is definitely one of my fav caracters. she is just soooo evil that she is awesome. is it messed up that all my favorite caracters are bad guys exept zuko, who changed (though he was 1 of my fav caracters even before he joined the gaang)? u kinda feel sorry for azula…everyone hates her…

  52. Azula’s going to go insane. I bet you any amount of money that she goes completly cukoo!

  53. its really hard to change someone when they were raised in evil. but there is a slight chance that she could change. (i doubt it)the truth is that azula does wish that her mother would love her or something like trhat i dont know the whole deal. but there defintly is a conflict between her mother and her.      :???:              :!: :?:

  54. Um… quick question; I was just looking around the ‘net and I saw something really disturbing. Did you know someone was crazy enough to suggest an Azulaang ship?!

  55. ?!??!?!?!?!?!?! Azula and Aang?!?!?!?!??!?!? just thinking about it is soooo messed up *shudders*

  56. I don’t know… Azula and Aang might happen under these circumstances:
    A) Aang somehow suffers mental damage and mistakes everyone he sees for someone else (e.g. Sokka-> Iroh, Momo-> Zuko, Azula-> Katara)
    B) Azula has a similiar or worse affliction (like losing all cognitive thought processes)
    C) The writers all got terribly drunk and thought it would be fun if…

  57. LOLZ i like number C best!

  58. Dude, if Avatar was real or I was in the show, I would so go out with Azula!

  59. !!!???WTF???!!! You do know she’d burn you to ashes right?

  60. she IS awesome and all but that doesent change the fact that she is pure evil and creepy and obsessed with power.

  61. But on second thought, I’d have to agree with you Sircen. I’d go out with Azula too, but only if I was fire proof and a much faster runner than her mongoose-dragon mount.

  62. No… I change my mind. I’d rather go out with Ty Lee- our dispositions are almost the same  !!!

  63. Do you think Azula would be a good singer? I had a dream that she was… :???:

  64. azula would be a good bounty hunter with may and tilee by her side
tilee is awsome she can dislocate body parts and she can block chi

  65. ok person who wrote this you’re wrong. Azula’s mother killed azulon because he told his son, Ozai since iroh lost his son, he wanted Ozai to kill his only son to feel what it’s like and zuko’s mother killed azulon to protect Zuko and Zuko’s mother was banished because of that. (By the way azula was 9 when that happened. I know this because I’m a big fan!

  66. Well, the way I see things is that Ursa killed Azulon for reasons stated above. (Ozai wants throne, Azulon says “No, now kill your son.”)

As far as Azula’s involvement in the process, I doubt she’d have been able to kill her grandfather, both for ethical reasons and for the fact that she wouldn’t have been able to hold her own in a battle against him. In short, I think she’d have been more of a witness than Ursa.

I believe that Azula’s name has a more significance than just her blue fire. The dragon that she represents is blue. It is also a legendary beast that is associated with Spring (season associated with Earth), the season(or book) that she was formally introduced in. All in all, blue fire just looks creepier than your garden variety of reds, yellows, and oranges. It provides an unnatural lighting, if you ask me. In The Beach, she even uses it to look intimidating. XD

    Avatar apparently has a lot of name significance, I guess you just have to dig deep. (Most of the time, it’s like that.) T_T;

  67. I guess you were wrong about the out come with how the whole azula thing ends. She always was my favorite charictor and the ending was alit funny but weird for her to do but i knew somthing was going to happen to her in the end to make herself screw up….no one is THAt perfect Even Azula…:!: :!: :!: :!: lol those are funny

  68. Whats wrong with you people you are all dumb  Azula is too evil too crazy and too very very dumb how can you guys like her I want Ty Lee to kick her butt  because I love Ty Lee shes more cooler and prettyer and better than dumb ugly Azula  Azula is dumb she sucks big time ha ha ha HA

  69. how could you say that azula is the coolest person of all time! I love her lightnig and shes so cool and confident! OMB when she was gunna shoot katara, totally epic! I think azula did know some before hand that azulon was gunna die cause in chapter 207 zuko alone she kept saying azulon was gunna die soon. Any ideas? by da way azulas fire is blue becuase it’s super hot, becuase fire is orange when it’s not very hot and blue when it’s super hot.

  70. ok im gonna end this now. I dont know if any of you people remember te original firebenders episode but ill remind you. avatar aang and zuko encountered a long forotten race called the sun warriors, and trough them they met ren and cha the last remaining dragons and when they judged aang and zuko worthy of the secret, they showed them that fire is not limeted by one color, or one alliance , but that fire can also be more than just anger and power, it can also be about life and peace. The reason azulas fire is blue is because of her uncanny sense of self control wich allows her to create any color she wants. Blue=cold look up chakra reading if you don beleive me.

  71. i agree with what you are saying and i think that iroh once mentioned that lightning is know as the cold fire, and i dont think i need to tell anyone that azulas intentions are no less than what we call a “cold blooded human”.
