Katara Editorial
The biggest question as to what will be Katara’s fate in future episodes is, I think, her role in the final battle. Although I address this in this part of the speculation section, I don’t go into details, so I’ll do that here:
In one of the scenarios that I mention, involving how Aang will end up facing Ozai, I bring up the possibility that Katara, along with Sokka and Toph, could help Aang to get to the throne room, where he faces Ozai alone, and then the group (minus Aang) is ambushed by firebenders. At this point, I see one of three things happening. First, the group defeats the firebenders and returns to the main battle. This seems a little unlikely because I can’t see the gang leaving Aang completely alone in a situation like that. Second possibility, one or two of them leave, while either Katara or Toph stay behind to help out Aang if necessary. Given the course of the series so far, I think it would be more likely for Katara to stay behind and help out Aang in case something happened. However, since that would effectively end her role in the battle and would also end this editorial, possibility number three is that Katara will be needed for something in the main battle, possibily because she might be the only waterbender there (For details, see my final battle ediotrial), or at the very least, one of very few. She could be important in taking down the Fire Nation’s vast array of steam powered killing machines, but it still stands that if Aang faces Ozai in the palace, alone, I can’t see Katara leaving him. However, for the sake of continuing this editorial, lets take in the possibility that Aang will face Ozai on an isolated part of the battlefield. Then Katara could also be in the battle, perhaps leading a batallion of waterbenders, or (I think this would be wicked cool) she could work with ol’ Master Pakku, probably the two most powerful waterbenders in the world going around kicking the Fire Nations butt. That would be pretty awesome to watch 
Plus, this seems to be even more likely now that Ba Sing Se has fallen.
I think that pretty much covers her role in the final battle, so lets move on to after that. I’m what some people might call a “Kataang shipper”, but I don’t really consider myself one. I “ship” relationships between characters who I think most likely to get together, not who I would most like to see together. So at this point, I see the most probable thing being that Aang and Katara get married, live happilly ever after, Katara helps out Aang in his avatar duties, fights with him against the external foe brought up in the Aang editorial, etc etc.
That covers everything I can think of, if anyone reading this wants to type up what could happen if Katara and Zuko got together, send it to me via the feedback form here, and I’ll put it up, but I don’t want to take the time to type that up. Especially since Zutara is all but dead now. THE END.

I don’t think a whole Zutara thing would happen: Aang would probably kick Zuko’s butt if it did. Huh, that would be kinda funny, out-of-place and cruel, but funny. Actually, I couldn’t see it happening, based upon what the plot’s been so far and all.
But now that I’ve seen several of the new Avatar Season Finale trailers, I mignt be wrong. But we’ll have to see the episode to find out.

I think that the shippers have overreacted. SPOILER ALERT!!
Katara is supposed to heal Zuko’s scar with the water that Paku gave her in the beginning of the season, and she’s gonna do that in the season finale. Given that, I think that shot of her touching Zuko’s face is her about to do that, not her about to kiss him, as the shippers claim. My word of the day? Delusional!

I kinda agree with the Katara Zuko thing simply because Aang is a Monk, and Monks are beyond sexual relations (they aren’t really supposed to get married). Besides, it would be politically appropriate for the highests ranking bender of the souther water tribe to be associated with the returning heir of the Fire Nation’s throne. There’s still an entire season left, so a lot can change, but I think the ultimately heals his wounded face–symbolically healing his wounded heart, and guiding him towards the side of balance, away from the side of control/consumption that he Fire Nation currently steers-

I think that that was very well thought out, and brilliantly stated. However, Katara doesn’t have much if any rank with the water tribe, and Aang is too young to take the vows about no marriage. Also, turns out Zuko’s scar wasn’t healed, I got a false spoiler. Sorry…

Yeah, at this rate (ahem, the season finale) the whole Zutara is pretty much impossible to reach right away. It might (by ‘might’ I mean a sliver of possiblity) happen in the near future, but otherwise the whole Zutara is down the drain! But I am pretty upset that Zuko suddenly went bad. He was doing SO well, and then he turns around and blows it. And he even tried to kill Katara. That right there would …no… WILL turn any girl off.
And seeing how Katara began going into a fit of tears when she was holding the lightning-struck Aang, the Kataang might still have hope. Even if Aang has ‘given Katara up,’ I just know that it can’t last…

I am a HUGE Kataang Fan. How is Zutara really possible. I mean, come on! Zutara will never happen. First of all, AANG LOVES KATARA!!! And I am pretty sure that Katara knows it. Second of all, remember all of those hugging/kissing moments! That must mean something! Third of all, THEY ARE ENEMIES!!! Why in theworld would you get together with your enemy!?!?

I agree with Yuki. The whole “love-hate” thing point is moot when it comes to romance, possible only in the pages of fanfiction (the Harry-Hermione ship in Harry Potter? Ring any bells?). Plus, there’s been Kataang buildup from the very first episode, and the first minor Zutara moment we got (and it’s only a Zutara moment at a stretch, it was really just Katara’s motherly, protective instinct) was at the end of Book 2. Do the math people, it all adds up perfectly.

I am also a very big Kataang supporter. But I ask you, how could Katara possibly like Zuko after he turned on her after she offered to help him, and began to trust him. He just goes and messes everything up! She wont trust him again. Did you see Jet, he lied to her and she didn’t have any more feelings for him. Its a done deal! Zuthara has officialy sunk!

I believe that she will be quite important in breaking into the Fire Nation to get to the palace and/or battle scene, because water neutralizes fire.

Hello, all! Woot, one of my first posts here as a staffer… the name’s Megan. Glad to be here.
Yes, it is rather clear that Katara and Aang have feelings for one another… however, I do not see it as a good match. Katara is, as noted before, too much of a motherlike figure in Aang’s life, and so much more mature than Aang, that such a relationship would make for an uncomfortable, and unhappy, end. Zutara is an interesting couple, but pretty unlikely, given that they are both on opposing sides.
To my untrained eye, it seems that the writers are moving towards a Kataang, however awkward.
I, for one, ship no couple. I do, however, anti-ship. If that makes any sense.

I think Katara knows what Aang feels for her. So we all know Katara feels something for Aang thats more than just friendship. You can see that in more than one episode, like the cave of two lovers. She was the one who came out with the idea to kiss, right? So I think Katara loves Aang to. So that means that Zutara is now dead.

Anyways, back on topic.
In response to Columbian girl, it depends on whether you think Katara loves Aang or not. Yes, there is evidence in the series pointing to it, but that is still open to interpretation. If she does love Aang, then yes, Zutara is dead. But whether or not Katara really loves Aang is still an opinion, and has not been established on the show, and that is the root of the entire debate.

Hello Luna! I’m glad you like the site, of course you can stay.
Katara did not seem to mind the idea of kissing Aang, no… but other than that there has been little shown of her feelings towards Aang. Until we know what she was really thinking, then there’s no real way to tell. For all we know, the only reason why she thought of kissing him was not because she liked him, but because she was a romantic at heart and thought of the idea due to her romantic tendecies, not for kissing Aang, but as for a way to get out of the crave.
But as I said before, we really just don’t know.
But that’s the fun of it all, eh?
Has anyone possibly considered that this great bender is not Aang, nor Zuko, but someone else?

Before i saw the season finale, i was so scare that Zutara was gonna happen! But know there is a 99.9% that Zutara will not happen. Even if Katara doesnt love Aang the way he loves her, she still loves him as a brother! So would you really couple up with someone that almost killed someone you loved! I know i wouldnt!
And if you watch the ending of the season finale the way Aang woke up when Katara healed him it was almost the same way he first saw her in the first ep. indicating that he most likly have fallen back in love with her! Cant Wait till Season 3 (march 2, YAY!) Kataang lover

first of all: we don’t know if the next book will be fire. it’s safe to assume, yes. but that still leaves the question of where air comes into it. could the next book be mostly about aang trying to recover in his past lives and yadda yadda? I think the whole Zutara thing is very close to possible. If you look closely on the episode the crossroads to destiny, Look at how Zuko looks at Katara. Its funny and romantic at the same time! Its possible!

Well, it still surprises me that so many hope for a Zuko/Katara romance… I mean, seeing the end of the season, and how he turned on both Aang and Iroh, really brings doubts to the flicker of hope of ever seeing a Zutara romance. Also, Katara was entirely devoted to Aang through all of the past episodes, why would it change? I think that the many hints and teases of Aang and Katara romance that we’ve seen so far indicates a very clear directory to the upcoming love affair. But, it always makes it a little more interesting to bring other interests to the story, doesn’t it? That’s where Jet and Zuko both come into play.
Also, Aang is in love with Katara, as he declared in ‘The Guru’, when he renounced on learning how to clear his crown chakra, that would force him to forget his feelings for her in the process. This brings another issue to the romance. Will Aang choose to renounce on love to become a monk and dedicate his life to being the Avatar, or will he choose love? I personally think this is another bump in the road to raise our anticipation of the much awaited conclusive romance. Aang might have to renounce on love (oooh, forbidden love!! *squee*) until he defeats the Fire Lord to willingly reach the Avatar state. He’ll eventually will have to procreate to refurnish the world with airbenders, to restore the fragile balnce of things. That would conveniently bring the awaited love declaration scene to the end of the last season. How extremely convenient!
But people always seem to be attracted to ‘forbidden’ or ‘contraversial’ romance. That’s why so many people want this ship to happen… Kinda like the Ginny/Draco ship… Well, I’m sorry to say this for you guys, but it seems that the possibility of a Zutara romance was denied by the creators of the serie… They compared it to a Momo/Appa romance! But, they do have a point, water and fire don’t mix well.
Plus, Aang and Katara have already kissed, hum, maybe… And Katara has already considered him as a potential husband in ‘The fortuneteller’. All the elements (no pun intented) seems to be pointing in one direction.
1. Aang loves Katara.
2. Katara is entirely dedicated to Aang.
3. They already consider eachother as a family, therefore they love eachother.
4. Katara is ALWAYS hugging Aang.
5. Katara and Aang have kissed. Maybe. Well, the thought was there anyway…
6. Katara’s supposed to marry a powerful bender. Zuko is not really a powerful bender. Aang is uber-powerful.
7. Katara has already considered that she and Aang might marry.
Also, the sacred water that Katara carried with her was finally used on Aang, not Zuko, and I think that might be symbolic for something.
I also have a little hunch that Zuko might die at the end of the serie… He seems like such a tragic character, that a tragic death would be fitting, like to die after defeating his sister. Say I’m crazy, but I usually have a pretty good instinct when it comes storytelling. I also think that Iroh will become Aang’s firebending teacher…
Anyway, that was a random brainstorm… Nyah. *shrugs*

In my opinion I don’t think they will ultimately end up together. Aang really doesn’t understand the whole concept of true love. It’s not even explicitly stated if Katara “loves” Aang the way he “loves” her. I mean, she is dedicated to helping him and gives him random sweet kisses, but it’s nothing serious. And the only reason they kissed in the “Cave of Two Lovers” episode is because they wanted to try the whole legend and get out.
I pretty much find they’re relationship a whole maternal thing. I mean when she caught him in the final episode of Season 2 after he got shot by Azula, her pose is based entirely on the Pieta sculpture which is a Mother Mary carrying and her son Jesus as he has fallen. Foreshadowing perhaps?
I see Katara ending up with someone else and Aang continuing on alone to protect others and probably attempting to restore the Air Nomads if he finally defeats Ozai and restores peace to the world.

I’m a big fan of Avatar although I haven’t seen most of the episodes, this is just from my own point of view.
Katara is older than Aang, this fact makes it uber awkward for their relationship to push through, and well, I guess Katara just treats Aang as her brother, she obtains this mother-like figure towards him.
Zuko and Katara, water and fire, truly unlikely because they are enemies, but the best of enemies will frequently turn out as lovers, and as they say “opposites attract”.

First off I am going to write a REALLY long comment about what I think will happen in the third season. Also, I am a HUGE, and by HUGE, I mean like eifle tower huge Kataang shipper, but I don’t think that the creators will have them end up together. At the begining of the season I think that they might get into a girlfriend/ boyfriend thing as they try to find a firebending teacher. Iroh will eventually become Aang’s teacher and Aang will come close to mastering all of the elements when that comet is only like a few days away and Aang relizes that he has to attack the fire lord. The gaang gets together and Aang somehow gets passed all of the soldiers to come face to face with the fire lord Ozai. (Now, this will probably be the SERIES finale so the creators can do basically anything that they want, and because Aang is a monk, he is not really supposed to marry. So in some way they kinda have to get rid of Katara which I don’t want to see happen, but if you look at the big picture, that’s what has to happen, soo….) Katara comes in to try back Aang up, Fire lord Ozai sees somehow that the two have soft spots for each other and goes to attack Katara. He is quick, and Katara is so badly injured that she cannot stay in the human world. This REALLY ticks Aang off, he is really badly hurt and goes into this HUGE HUGE HUGE Avatar state that there is just this huge fight between the fird lord and Aang. Aang obviosly wins. He comes out of the Avatar state and relizes that Katara isn’t there to hold onto him after he came out from the avatar state, and kinda like what happened to Princess Yue, Aang sees Katara’s spirit and have their kiss. I think that could end right there and pause for a few seconds, then have Katara narrarating what happened after that and what Aang did after that and when he grew up, what he did to restore world peace. I think that would end the show, I mean, I REALLY REALLY want the whole Kataang thing to happen, but I really think that this is what was supposed to happen, Oh and by the way, in the fortunteller, remember, the gaang had a lot of ways to prove that the fortuneteller was wrong, so that really can’t be a huge conflict, and that is what I have to say. I think that everyone should think carefully on this and hopefully this will be enough food in the fire to last us a while, (I mean disscusion wise)

i think they should get together but yeah he is a monk it might just be a kid crush on her it might not. no one knows if they will and zutara cant happen there are enemies. two years apart he loves her but know ones knows that katara loves him. she thinks of him as a little brother nothing more.
no one knows if they will get together plus they kissed in the cave but it must of didnt mean anything or did it. aang liked the idea theres so many kataang moments. not many zutara moments and why is there a zutara ship?

Hey Um just pointing out one thing. And a question. I’ve seen on 2 different sites they say Zuko is 14, but the other site says he is 16. Which is right??
And also I think if a relationship with Katara happens it’s definetely gonna be with Aang. No WAY is she gonna get together with Zuko. Just cos she begins to slighhhtly trust him he goes and betrays it!!

i think what gonna happen is when aang gets sprung on the fire nation zuko will be disowened(of course) and will gravitate to Gaang with his uncle (whos probably gonna teach aang his firebending) and the finale epic battle will be between aang the fire lord and Zuko. i have a bad feeling someone is gonna die (uncle iroh if anybody but i love him hes so cool) due to the very commical episode 9 (lots of series put in a mood breaker when they are about to do something evil or after they have done it, kinda following in shakespears footsteps really)so my opinion is that katara will be trying to keep uncle iroh alive while zzuko enraged fights his dad along with aang for a while in which one of them will get knocked out and fight ozai alone. thats what i think MIGHT happen and would be a great plot twist really since zuko gets revenge for his mother and his crappy life only to more depressed to fined out that his only family is is crazy sister.

I believe for Aang to defeat the Fire Lord he needs one thing, his Avatar State. The one thing keeping that from him is Katara. Therefore, Katara must die. It’s sad, but true. I imagine Ozai carelessly blasting Katara with a blaze of fire killing her, sending Aang over the deep end. Not only would her death motivate Aang, but the whole Gaang as well. Think about it, Katara holds the group together with her mothering attitude, without her they’re lost. With nothing else to lose Aang could power-up and kill the Fire Lord. Maybe with his Avatar powers Aang could ressurect Katara but Aang must atleast think she is gone forever to defeat the Fire Nation.

wait, aang said that he can’t go into his avatar state anymore because when he was blasted by lightning, his chokra thing closed up for good. so katara doesn’t need to die. plus, i believe they will get together because aang kissed katara in the day of black sun. but then again, zuko and katara might get together because zuko made up his mind and switched sides. besides, he is now officially on the avatar’s side.

Well, I’d just like to point out one thing: Katara pretty much HATES Zuko for “Crossroads of Destiny” to the point of not being above literally murdering the fire prince if he gives her the slightest excuse. Even if he eventually earns her forgiveness in the next several episodes, I don’t think I see Zatura happening.

In response to Melmel00, Zuko may be on the Avatar’s side, but the Avatar doesn’t know that. When Zuko finally catched up with them at the Western Air Temple, I imagine there will be a huge battle, and Katara will be just about to kill him, when Zuko finally says something like “Please! Listen, I’m on your side!” Katara won’t listen, but Aang will jump in and tell her to stop and at least listen. Then Zuko will probably be able to join the group, but Katara and Sokka won’t trust him for a long time. (Especially Katara) And I am a Kataang shipper, so I was glad when I read a comment higher on the page that mentioned how Katara hated Jet after he betrayed her. So I was thinking, “Oh! She DEFINITELY won’t forgive Zuko, then!” But then I remembered, she DID forgive Jet after a little while…But I still think her and Aang will get together, especially after that kiss in DOBS!! That is what I’ve been waiting for since the beginning of Book 2!

In the episode “The Avatar and the Fire Lord”, Avatar Roku fell in love, got married, and had at least one child–Zuko’s his great-grandson, after all. Now clearly, Avatar Roku did NOT need to set aside love to get into the Avatar State at will. I’m afraid the Guru was only partly right; clearing all seven chakras, I think, is only one way to achieve the Avatar State. So Aang’s Crown Chakra is locked. Locks can be broken. And Aang had no trouble “getting his glow on” in episode 1 of season 2, when that Earth Kingdom general made the earth swallow Katara. Or earlier.
Also, about Aang being a monk: it’s never been said that the Air Nomads were celibate. How did the Air Nomads reproduce otherwise all these years? You did NOT see Aang shying away from what he was doing, like he was doing something forbidden. He was actively seeking Katara. I don’t think people of the other nations just discovered they were Airbenders and went to the Air Temples to learn their trade, as would have to happen for the Air Nomads to continue if they were celibate. I think the Air Nomads were a race all their own. Or maybe, ARE…
I watched “The Swamp” again last night. The great tree in the middle of the swamp that Hugh led them to? In the far-away view, it looks like a great, upward-pointing arrow, like the kind the Air Nomads wear. And the thing that brought the Gaang down was a tornado, which Hugh said he couldn’t do. A tornado. Airbending? Possible? How about an Air Nomad battalion thrown against the Fire Lord, eh? :-)} But maybe I should have put that under the “Aang” section.
I’m definitely cheering for Aang and Katara getting together. I felt for Aang all through the journey when he was trying to get across how he felt to Katara–not easy at all in the first place. We’ve all been there, I think. And then for him to express himself in one simple, wordless, crystal-clear action by kissing her… exquisitely done. I only hope Katara reciprocates. But she did kiss him back, I think.

I think, Katara will stay because in all Aang’s battles, she’s always been there. There is also a possibility of Katara helping Sokka, Toph and the others.(Since she is the only one who can heal people.) I would definitely cheer for Aang and Katara to get together. Even though she’s older, that’s not the problem. Love does matter not the age/height.

-Aang, and if Jet comes back into this, will not let Zuko have Katara.Willingly.

Now- how it will happen
-Opposites attract in all instances-including romance
-Katara may not fall in love with Zuko. Lets just say the Blue Spirit will come back.
-The fortuneteller told Katara her future.Id rebel. Considering her nature,its not all that likeley she’ll go with the plan. No one ever does in Avatar. Even Day of Black Son got botched.

katara hates zuko. they will never get together. i do not think that the blue spirit will come back because then if zuko is found missing, the group might think he ditched them. then the group will never trust him. also, while zuko is teaching aang firebending katara will be right there keepong a close eye on him. if zuko even burns aang or hurts him with fire in any way, katara will kill zuko. zuko has to always watch his back and he already knows that katara is not to be underestimated, meaning, he cannot get too close with her. so, in my opinion, zutara is officially dead.

I hate to say it, Blackartist321, but I have to agree, given recent information. (And on that I have to say that it would be nice if Nickelodeon got its &!$!(#!@!!! act together and broadcast new Avatar episodes on AMERICAN channels too, thank you very much! All love and honor to the Canadians, but this first-bounce stuff is ridiculous.)
Anyway, Katara is now ready to kill Zuko if he moves against Aang, which tells me she felt betrayed by Zuko at Old Ba Sing Se. Katara acted the same way toward Jet when he used her, but definitely with more intensity now. Question is, though, just how did Katara feel betrayed? Was it that she felt Zuko had turned back to bad from good, or something else? Sure hope it’s just the good-to-bad thing personally, re previous. :-)} Should Zuko continue on the “good” path…
Only thing, though, is that that’s making several assumptions: that Katara DID feel that way and could again, that Zuko felt anything for her, that Zuko no longer feels anytrhing for Mai, and that Katara loves Aang “as just a friend”. (And since I have the floor, does anyone else want to join me and ban THAT phrase from the English language, for good? All in favor? :-)}) Aang has made it clear how he feels. Unfortunately, I thnk a Zuko-and-Katara linkup would unblock Aang’s Seventh Chakra in the worst way possible. Save the world, break Aang’s heart? Great. Just great.

To be honest the Avatar series is a wonderful, amazing set of movies but you must take into consideration that a lot of these kind of things can have a happy ending or completely end terribly. I think that zuko will join the avatar now that he is running away from home and I think that this is zukos destiny to help the avatar because zuko never really liked it in the Fire Nation, and was sometimes embarrased to be a fire bender if he really has it in his heart then he will help the Avatar. But not even Zuko would want his own father dead so he is in a hard place right now.

i’m not a big shipper either but…i also support what history says is more likely to happen than what i WANT to see.
but, if you take into consideration classics such as Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” and Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing”, it always seems as though the two people who can’t STAND each other find they can’t resist each other either!
in the case of both Elizabeth-and-Mr. Darcy, as well as the infamous Beatrice-and-Benedick, initially, there’s no love lost between them! It seems to ring all too similar with Zuko and Katara as well…
I think of it in 2 ways. Firstly, Aang, being the Avatar and all, has to place her second to the world. no doubt he loves her…but he also loves the mountains, the flowers, that rock over there, this stream, the winds, the people, EVERYTHING! it his DUTY to love all equally…that is the life of the Avatar. When he begins to put his feelings before other things, we get people like Avatar Kuruk! (we don’t want THAT now do we?)
Secondly, look at it this way, as of now, Aang bends over backwards to make Katara happy…but, one day, he’s going to have to put his foot down and say “NO” to her…and it wil seem out of character and cause a fight, most likely. Zuko however has already shown that he can put his foot down. There are less chances of her being shocked by Zuko’s behavior than Aang’s as she’s already seen the former at his worst…

I agree with Rob M. If Aang himself doesn’t seem to worry about being attracted to a girl, than his being a monk obviously shouldn’t affect his relationships.
To me, the main obstacle with Katara/Aang is that she seems to see him as a little brother. She’s very protective of him and cares deeply for him and would die for him, etc, but she doesn’t act as if her feelings aren’t anything but platonic or familial. I mean, you just don’t get a crush on your little brother, no matter how much you love him. If Aang can overcome that obstacle, than he’d stand a real chance of winning Katara’s heart. Otherwise, I just don’t see it ultimately happening.

plus Zuko and Katara hav a lot in common if u think about it. they both grew up without their parents, they both had older relatives who took care of them (Uncle Iroh and Gran Gran) they are both good at their kind of bending (sure, Zuko is not as good as his sis, so what? that doesent mean he sucks!). the problem of Zuko being a bad guy was destroyed when Zuko joined the BoomerAANG team, plus, the whole Katara/Aang thing is WAY TOO OBVIOUS. plus, Zuko might have gotten rid of the problem about Katara’s whole protectiveness about aang and not trusting Zuko by saving her dad from prison. it certainly got him on Sokka’s good side! i think that maybe Katara would be about to marry Aang then Zuko will come bursting through the door and fight Aang for Kataras hand in marrige. when they start to fight Zuko will catch Aang when he turned his back and Zuko would win then Katara will try and escape and then get back with Aang then he would protect her all day eccept at night then Zuko , driven by jealousy will kidnap Katara and force her to marry him then Aang will rescue her and they will get married.

UMMM OK THIS IS A HUGE SPOILER
I ALREADY SAW THE WHOLE AVATAR THING EVEN BOOK 3 FIRE
this is what really happens in the last 4 episodes of Book 3-Fire [The last 4 episodes are joined into a movie]
The Avatar and millions of his friends from his previous adventures make a plan to attack the fire nation in the day of Black Sun. That day they reach the palace and Aang seeks the Fire Lord. As he gets there he noticed the whole Palace City is empty. Meaning that the Fire Nation already knew of the invasion. Later on Aang tells Katara, Sokka and Toph. They seek the Fire Lord and fing that there is a underground place that the Fire tribe is hiding in.
They find the Fire Lord’s chamber only to discover that Princess Azula is there.
They start to fight her and then Aang realizes that she only wants to waste the 8 minutes of the solar eclipse on her.
While the Azula thing is happening Zuko enters the Fire Lord’s real chamber and he tells his father that his new destiny is to help the Avatar master Fire bending. His father blasts lightining at him and he re-directs it. Zuko seeks to find his uncle but he had escaped from prison.
Now the avatar and his friends get out of the underground thing and they meet up with the rest of the people [Kioshi warriors, the water tribe, the swamp people, the freedom fighters, and many others]. Katara’s dad tells them to leave the fire nation and to leave them there as prisoners because the submarines they used to get in are destroyed by the fire nation.
Aang, Katara, Toph, Sokka, and like 4 more kids [The one in the wheel chair, one of the freadom fighters and Haru...if thats how you spell it] leave to the western air temple on Appa.
Later on Zuko finds them and tries to explain that he was good now and he wants to help the Avatar and no one believes him. Then some freaky dude that Zuko had commanded to kill the avatar on episode 3 of the fire book appears. Hes chasing the Avatar and then Zuko helps them. The Avatar and his friends are convinced that Zuko is good.
Zuko tries to teach Aang Fire bending but he cant because the natural source of Zuko’s fire bending was his anger and now that he has changed he does not have the same source of energy. So Aang and Zuko go on a journey to find the original source of fire bending… The sunwarrior’s ruins. The original source of fire bending where the dragons which were extinct. Later they discover that they were not extinct and they teach Aang and Zuko the ways.
Ill be finishing this later on…if you wish to know the rest just tell me.

To add in a bit of stuff I heard a while ago, the series’ creators have expressed interest in creating a new story in the same world. Maybe when the live action movies come out, interest in Avatar will super spark again. Hope floats.
As far as this story is concerned, it’s all a happily ever after. Of course there are still unresolved plot elements. (Zuko’s mother, what happened to Azula, etc.) Who knows, maybe it’ll be like The Fairly Oddparents and spawn rare movie events. I’m known for being clingy, though, as this probably won’t happen. T_T

to answer ur questions Brittany
1. im confused on this 1 too. Technically Aang is 100 years older, but if you consider that he was frozen for 100 years and never grew older(physically)he is younger.
2. Sokka is 15 at the beginning but I think that he turns 16 at the end. Katara is 14 but turns 15 at the end. Toph is 12 but turns 13. By the time Zuko becomes Fire Lord he is 17. Suki, I think is at least 15 the first time we see her but is around 16 or 17 at the end.
3. I am pretty sure that Aang and Katara kiss in the Cave of Two Lovers.
